Der britische Theologe. Baron of Canterbury and of Sissinghurst. Er war 1974 bis 1980 Erzbischof von Canterbury. 1937 bis 1944 Professor für Das Neue Testament in Toronto, 1956 bis 1961 Bischof von Bradford, 1961 bis 1974 Erzbischof von York.
